  Ladies and gentlemen,

 

First of all, on behalf of all the Chinese Embassy staff, I would like to extend our warmest welcome to your presence here. This evening we gather here to enjoy a mushroom feast, sharing the information and knowledge of mushroom. The mushroom with variety displayed here is from Sino-Lesotho Juncao Technology Demonstration Center in Maseru, a project sponsored by Chinese Government. The project commenced in September 2007, under the Bilateral Agreement between our two Governments, which has won the universal appreciations from Lesotho side. As we know, in recent years, Basotho people have been suffering from severe food shortage. As Lesotho's reliable friend and development partner, we introduced this project to Lesotho in order to help our Basotho brothers and sisters to explore an innovative way in solving the food issue.

 

It is common consensus that mushroom is rich in nutrition, served as medicine, food and tonic. The Juncao technology is renowned for low cost, fast grow period, high production, zero pollution, rich nutrition, etc.. The raw material is the special cultivated grass other than trees. It has no harm to the environment and eco-system. Juncao technology has already been promoted in 60 countries in Africa, Central Southern America, and 366 cities of 32 provinces in China, proved great success. At present, we have formal cooperation relationship with South Africa KwaZulu-Natal province, Papua New Guinea Eastern Highland Province, Rwanda Ministry of Agriculture, Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture. Later, the inventor of Juncao Technology, Prof. Lin Zhanxi will introduce the planting method, mushroom function and cuisine recipe in detail to you. And the master chef of the Chinese Embassy would like to display how to make delicious and exquisite mushroom meal. It is our most pleasure for our distinguished guests to taste and judge, and help to promote and expand the marketing of this mushroom.

 

We sincerely wish more and more Basotho people could shake off the poverty and secure the food safety through planting Juncao thus taking the path of well-off development.
