On August 22, 2018, on the eve of his trip to China for the Beijing Summit of the Forum of China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Right Hon. Prime Minister Motsoahae Thomas Thabane of the Kingdom of Lesotho received an interview by China Major National Media, including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television (CCTV), China Radio International and China News Service.

In the interview, the Right Hon. Prime Minister highly praised the cordial relations and fruitful results of the pragmatic cooperation between China and Lesotho and China and Africa. The Right Honorable pointed out that China is the real friend of Lesotho. The Lesotho Government and People strongly support the initiative of building the China-Africa community with a shared future by H.E. President Xi Jinping. Lesotho looks forward to the convention of the upcoming Beijing Summit of FOCAC and believes it will inject strong impetus into China-Africa cooperation in the new era and further benefit the China and Africa People.
