On 14 June 2018, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Lesotho H.E. Dr. Sun Xianghua attended a donation ceremony by the China-Lesotho People to People Friendship Action Fund in Qacha's Nek. The fund handed over 3 new toilet buildings to the Patlong High School as well as bursaries and student kits to 50 poverty-stricken students nominated by 13 schools in the district. Hon. Maphoka Motoboli, Deputy Minister of Education and Training and her Principal Secretary, Hon. Nthabiseng Makoae, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and food security, Hon. Mr. And Mrs.Sekatle, Members of Parliament, the District Administrator, the principals and students of the beneficiary schools, the mainstream local media, Mr. Ma Guoliang, the Economical and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy, representatives of the Friendship Action Fund and the Chinese Community were also at the occasion.

Ambassador Sun pointed out that investing in education is the wisest, hence both China and Lesotho attach great importance to developing the cooperation in education. He indicated that the sanitary facilities handed over will better the living and educational conditions of the school, and the bursaries will help the beneficiaries to continue their study. Ambassador Sun wished all the students could get hold of the valuable opportunity by studying hard, and become qualified people needed for  national development in the future.

Hon. Motoboli extended appreciations to the Fund. She urged the beneficiary schools to take good use of the donations by enhancing their performances, and pushing forward the development of Education. She also encouraged the students to keep on and complete their study, and make contributions to deepening the China-Lesotho friendship.
