Signing on Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement Between China and Lesotho

On June 28, 2005, signing ceremony of Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Lesotho was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Lesotho. H.E. Chinese Ambassador Qiu Bohua and Honourable Foreign Minister of Lesotho Monyane Moleleki signed on the agreement on behalf of each government. Also at present were about 30 People, including Political Consular Mrs. Wang Shufen, Economic and Commercial Consular of Chinese Embassy Mrs. Wang Yindong, Acting Permanent Secretary of Foreign Ministry of Lesotho Mr. Lekhala, Chief Protocol of Foreign Ministry of Lesotho Mr. Mphale, Acting Director of Asia and Pacific of Foreign Ministry of Lesotho Mr. Ramanono.

H.E. Qiu Bohua, Chinese Ambassador in Lesotho, highly evaluated the friendship between China and Lesotho in his remarks. He said that the cooperation between the two countries was fruitful and the two sides had always trusted and supported each other on international affairs. On behalf of Lesotho government and her people, Honourable Foreign Minister Monyane Moleleki expressed his heartfelt thanks for China's generous grant. He said the friendship fostered by Chairman Mao, the founder of the People's Republic of China and Right Honourable Mohehle, the founder of the independence of Lesotho, had prevailed among people from all works of life despite of geographical distance between China and Lesotho, and The National Convention Centre and National Library and Archives of Lesotho had become monuments of friendship between the two countries. He reiterated that Lesotho would firmly adhere to One-China policy and support peaceful reunification of China. He was firmly convinced that Taiwan would come back to the Motherland like Hong Kong and Macao sooner or later.
