Charge d'Affairs ad interim of Chinese Embassy in Lesotho Mr. Song Changqing Met with Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Motsoahae Thomas Thabane

On 30 January 2019, Mr. Song Changqing, the Charge d'Affairs ad interim of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Lesotho met with the Right Honourable Dr. Motsoahae Thomas Thabane, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho. Hon. Monyane Moleleki, the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Thesele 'Maseribane, the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Hon. Lesego Makgothi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations as well as his Principal Secretary Ms. Mamonyane Bohloko, and Mr. Moahloli Mphaka, the Government Secretary of Lesotho were present.

Mr. Song extended best wishes for the new year to Rt. Hon. Thabane. He said that since the convention of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and His Right Honourable's official visit to China, the China-Lesotho relationship has ascended to an unprecedented and historical height, featured by political mutual trust between both sides being continuously concreted, the practical cooperation in economy and trade delivering fruitful outcomes, the cultural and people-to-people exchanges growing from strength to strength. Mr. Song out-looked the new year and said that the Chinese government wishes to continue working with the Lesotho government in the new year for greater achievement in bilateral friendly cooperation.

       Rt. Hon. Thabane extended appreciation and new year greetings to Mr. Song. The Rt. Hon. pointed out that China is one of the closest friends of Lesotho. He expressed his wishes for the new year that the China-Lesotho mutual beneficial cooperation shall take full advantage of the implementation of the FOCAC Beijing Summit outcomes to achieve greater successes and drive the China-Lesotho friendship to a higher level.
