Chinese Embassy Donated Office Equipments to Ministry of Public Service of Lesotho

On 2 October 2017, H.E. Dr. Sun Xianghua, Ambassador of China to Lesotho, attended the hand-over ceremony in which the Chinese Embassy donated a batch of office equipments to the Ministry of Public Service of Lesotho. Hon. Thesele Maseribane, Minister of Public Service, Mr. Tseliso Lesenya, Principal Secretary, Ms. Rethabile Maluke, Deputy Principal Secretary, directors of different departments, and journalist also attended the ceremony. Ambassador Sun and Hon. Maseribane signed the hand-over certificate on the donation of computers, printer and projectors, and the Lesotho officials sang a Sesotho song of "we've been waiting for this day for long" to show their appreciation.

Ambassador Sun commended Hon. Maseribane's on his efforts upon resuming office to improve the working condition and the morale of the public servants in the aim of upgrading their service delivery, and hoped the equipments will be helpful. Meanwhile, he introduced briefly the system of recruitment, promotion, cultivation and management of public servants of the Chinese government, and said that the Chinese side was willing to continuously cooperate with the Lesotho side on the capacity building of the public service and the two sides could learn from each other.

Hon. Maseribane said, China-Lesotho cooperation has borne immeasurable results to the development of Lesotho and the gesture of the Chinese Embassy today is a good continuation, for which the Lesotho side was of sincere gratitude. He stressed that the Ministry with the responsibility of coordinating human resource within government will make its utmost efforts to serve Basotho. He hoped the Ministry could learn from the Chinese experience to promote public sector reforms and wish long-live friendship between the two countries.
